Service Projects always on the move

Our Youth Council has been working on cars for children all over the world.  We sand and paint them then send them on to our military who takes them to children who have very little.  The cars are all different. When their little finger is placed through the window they claim ownership. They know it belongs to them!

We are working with the Rotary on the Recycling Bin Project.  We now have a bin at the Clearfield Aquatic Center, Syracuse City Hall, and West Point City Hall.  Clearfield also donated 30 pairs of shorts and 30 jerseys that we took down to the Refugee Center for the youth there.  They will be so excited to have matching teams!  We donated shin guards last spring, so now they're rearin' to go!

Also, we've got a great night for the special needs children and youth.  We are hosting a valentine dance at city hall where the kids can come meet new friends and rock out!  This will be coming soon in February!

Upcoming events

Hey Youth Council Kids...
First off, if you volunteered to make posters for the essay contest to be taken to the schools, don't forget. We're counting on you.  The essay is for all West Point residents "Why I love my City"  Cash Prizes!!! Deadline Feb. 22 and winners announced Mar. 5th.

Congrats to Avin for winning the castle ice sculpturing contest!  Woo Hoo a big winner of $25.00! That was alot of fun!  We had races too and Jared won hands down!

If anyone is coming to Legislator Day meet at my house Jan 30th at 8:00am.  Wear nice cloths like a tie and nice dress slacks or skirt.  We will be touring, sitting in during Bills, and eating at In-N-Out Burger on the way home.

If anyone wants to go to USU Leadership Conference on March 14th-16th the application forms will be available at our next meeting on Jan 16th.  The form must be filled out and brought back by the 23rd to City Hall with the registration fee of $100.00 (I'm pretty sure on fee).  It will be fun, but optional.  All of our retreats are the same type thing, so don't feel bad if you can't get away from school at this time.

 Gotta love the HAIR!
Retreat service project with Kelly Kendell.
Veteran Program! Harry Trease came to speak. What a treat!
All other business we'll address at our meeting. See ya there!
