Christmas Party

Dec. 16th Mtg. is a pizza party, gift exchange, and assembling gift sets for the Retirement Home. Please bring musical instruments if you want to play as we carol. The gift exchange can include a inexpensive gift.... no more than $2.00. We will be done at 6:30, so have a ride ready! Thanks so much!




The cert volunteer program went well on Saturday morning, Dec. 12th. We had pretend broken bones, and other injuries. We will volunteer to help Fire Chief, again in the Spring!!

Last nights meeting




Hey kids, Thanks so much for all your help sanding blocks for the Festival of the Trees!! We finished assembling the "bag of blocks" today! They are so cute!! They will be sold-out fast!

Those youth council kids that haven't been able to join us... please come if you can. We miss you.

Also, last night's retirement home visit was a great success! Many songs played, and visiting with the Elderly!!! Thankyou, thankyou... you kids are awesome.

Upcoming events.... include our mtg on December 2nd will be a guest speaker....Gary Peterson. He is on the City Council and the Liason over Youth Council. You won't want to miss out!

December 7th is the Lighting Ceremony at City Hall. We need you to do the concession stand which basically intells handing out hot chocolate! Also, we will be taking pictures of kids with Santa!

December 12th is a mock trajedy where we get to dress us like wounded, natural disaster
victims for the Cert Program. This will be at 8:30-11:00 at the Job Corps @ the Freeport Center. Chris Tremea is director, and we will be volunteering under him.

The third Wednesday in December will be a $2.00 limit gift exchange/Christmas party! We will also assemble gift baskets for the Retirement Home, and sing Christmas carols!!

Upcoming events

We will be setting up art displays at Lakeside Elementary Friday, Nov. 6th @ 3:00. Just come to the school if you're willing to help.

Our Veteran's Program will be Sat., Nov. 7th. @ 10:00 at the Cemetary. We will place the flags on the graves earlier that morning at 8:30 at the cemetary. All YC boys please wear your boyscout shirts and take part in the flag ceremony for the Veterans Program. We will practice at the meeting Wed. Nov. 4th.

Halloween Carnival

What a SPOOKY Halloween Carnival!!! What a great success! Thank you so much for all those who volunteered their time. We so appreciate you.

Pick up your application for 2009-2010 Y.C.


We are entering a new year of activities! The new council will be selected, and sworn in October! Pick up your application at the City Hall. Make sure you turn it in by September 30th! We look forward to a great new year ahead!

September Service Day

Wow! What a great success with 75 Hygiene Kits and School Kits assembled and donated to the Safe Harbor and Utah Food Bank. We actually collected the most supplies of 2, 345 which won us the Golden Buffalo!! Yah for the scavenger hunt!!!



Speaker, Paul Spackman was a great motivational
lift for the kids! Taking inititive, being leaders among peers, and knowing true worth!!

Clinton City joined us for this great celebration!

Summer Games

This is such a tremendous opportunity for the youth to not only get to know other kids from around Utah, but to be a part of one of the biggest youth service projects in Utah this year. This will be a publicized event and having lasting impressions on our youth.... building character, and respect for others needs. We will also be passing on the traditional Golden Buffalo!

Hygiene Kits for the Homeless


Teaming up with Clinton City Y. C. putting together 500 kits for the Roadhome Homeless Shelter was a great feeling! Service work is truly a great experience.




Hey all you Youth Council Members we get to take part in a Mini-Conference this Friday, June 12th!! We will be joining North Salt Lake Council and Clearfield Council at 6:30 AM to go to the Energy Solutions Facility for a tour, and then a picnic out in the west desert riding on a bus which will return around 1:00 or so! Meet at my house at 6:30 sharp. That's right, bright and early in the morning! You won't need money or food.. it's all provided!! This will be a great chance to get to know kids from other councils!!

4th of July Face Painting

We have been assigned the task of doing the face painting booth for our cities festivities. Come to our June meetings and learn how to paint the 6 designs that have been selected! It'll be great fun as we have our mini-art lesson! Also, we plan to help supervise the blow-up toys as we have done in previous years. We will have a sign-up sheet, so you can sign up for the shift that works best for you.

Presidential Service Award

Hey all you Youth Council members... please go through the year starting from July 2008- May 2009 and tally all your service hours so we can get you your Presidential Service Award!!! It's very simple, just write how many hours, and what it was for. Ex. Yard work- 2 hours
Any kind of church, home, community, or school service counts!! So please get this to me as soon as possible!
